My family has this crazy notion that I’m a patient man.
They don’t hang around the office much…
I have the patience of a two-year-old in the toy store.
I want results, sales, new business…and I want it now!
I’m gonna place a safe bet and say…you can relate, ‘eh?
Hey, a little impatience is healthy in business…it gets stuff done.
It adds that little sense of urgency…
But there’s a side effect…
It causes you to think and act for the short term.
Yes, you need to sell today.
Sometimes you need to sell today to make payroll tomorrow.
I get it…
But the pot-o-gold lies in the relationships you started yesterday, today and will start tomorrow, that have maturity dates in 3-months, 6-months, a year.
If you’re not building a platform to stay in front of that group (while you’re impatiently selling today), you’ll still need to sell today to pay tomorrow’s bills.
