I was in the car today listening to the excellent Infusioncast podcast with my buddy Joshua Millage.
His guest, Brian Keith, said something important (paraphrasing)…
“Successful people focus on getting things DONE.”
You’re probably thinking…”No kidding”, but let’s dive a bit deeper.
This doesn’t mean, getting everything done.
That’s what I always used to believe…and I worked WAY to many hours early in my career thinking it was some sort of test of will against the universe.
What I’ve since discovered (and what Brian so clearly pointed out) is that success lies in what you get all the way to done.
Not in all the things you’re doing.
Fewer things done, beats lots of stuff in “doing”.
I, and I suspect you, have a grand imagination. There is no know limit to the stuff I can “think up”.
The thinking up is easy.
The starting is easy.
The DONE is easy…
…when you pick the right things and focus.
It’s the picking the right things and the focus that’s hard.
