How to turn leads into clients without a sales script

  There are really just three steps in the client getting process…

Stranger to acquaintance…

Acquaintance to lead…

Lead to client…

So the job of getting clients is simply to move people from one category to the next, again and again.

Unfortunately most of the businesses I hear from that are really struggling try to squeeze it all down to one, single, daunting step…

From stranger to client.

(And they say romance and courtship is dead…)

Today, let’s focus on getting your leads across the finish line.

The “old-school” way to do it is to learn how to recite some closing script…take an “ABC” (Always Be Closing) attitude and…

…through sheer force of will, mental yoga and Jedi mind tricks, convince the prospect to become a client.

Don’t know about you, but this approach never worked well for me (I guess I need more Jedi training!).

So, instead I’ve relied on two simple things to “force” leads to make a conscious decision to become a client or not (either option is perfectly fine…I just never want to live in “maybe” land)

Simple trick #1: Have a process they must follow to buy and TELL THEM WHAT IT IS…

Simple trick #2: Use the calendar to force a decision…take the next step or not, but you have to do it by Friday, ‘cause that’s when the next step happens.
